Award Nominations

Each year, the Chamber of Commerce delivers awards, highlighting exceptional members and individuals who have made a difference in the community and worked to further the mission of the Chamber.

We are seeking nominations for the 2024 awards. Nominations are due by Wednesday, October 1 at 5 p.m.

  •  A nominee may not be nominated for multiple awards but may only win one award annually.
  •  Nominees must be a member in good standing of the Greater Kokomo Chamber of Commerce, a division of the Greater Kokomo Economic Development Alliance
  •  Members may be nominated for any award, if applicable, but will not be eligible to win the same award in consecutive years
  •  A nominator may nominate multiple nominees

Award Categories

Large Business of The Year

2023 Winner: Community First Bank of Indiana

Requirements: A business (51 employees or more) that has made significant contributions to the economic health of the community, including financial contributions, business growth, and the introduction of new or innovative products and services. This business excels in employee development, is community minded and provides outstanding customer service.

Small Business of The Year

2023 Winner: Krystal Ruble State Farm

Requirements: A business (50 employees or fewer) that has made significant contributions to the economic health of the community, including financial contributions, business growth, and the introduction of new or innovative products and services. This business excels in employee development, is community minded and provides outstanding customer service.

Ambassador
of the Year

2023 Winner: John Fansler

Requirements: An ambassador who has demonstrated the highest level of commitment to fulfill the ambassador’s mission. This individual provides a crucial link between the chamber and its members, helps ensure that all members receive the maximum benefit from their investment, encourages member involvement in chamber activities and creates productive working relationships.

Volunteer
of the Year

2023 Winner: Amanda Beasley

Requirements: A Chamber member who has demonstrated integrity, initiative and creativity to enhance the goals of the chamber. This individual has demonstrated support of chamber goals and provided dependable and exceptional assistance on the chamber’s behalf.

Businessperson
of the Year

2023 Winner: Brandon Bishop

Requirements: An individual who has shown significant contributions to the local economy and community during the previous year through business growth, innovation, sound business practices and community involvement including any engagement in the Greater Kokomo Economic Development Alliance. Nominees must work or live in the Howard County area.

IMPACT Nonprofit Award

2023 Winner: Kokomo Urban Outreach

Requirements: The IMPACT award is recognition of a nonprofit organization, initiative, or institution that has made a significant impact in the community over the past year.

Elizabeth Foster Award

2023 Winner: Joni DeLon

Requirements: A woman in business who helps other women build success in their business, contributes time and talent to improve other women’s lives, and serves as a mentor and positive force of influence in the community.
