We’re creating more than a brand for the community.
Though several logos have been created throughout the years, no cohesive messaging existed for the community. So, the Greater Kokomo Economic Development Alliance assembled a committee in 2022 to research and develop a brand for the Kokomo community.
Through focus groups and surveys, the committee discovered key themes and values that were important to the community. These insights were used as the foundation for a new brand identity, including a logo, color palette, and messaging that reflected the community’s unique character and aspirations.
These efforts seek to not only create a renewed sense of pride for current businesses and residents but to also spur economic development in the forms of increasing residents, business development and visitation.
Through this new campaign, we believe the community now has a brand that accurately represents them and their shared values and it will empower residents to make a positive impact in our community.

Ultimately, the success of a community branding campaign depends on the involvement and enthusiasm of the community itself. The participation and engagement of residents and businesses alike can help to build a positive perception of the community among visitors and potential new residents. You are the ones who live and breathe the community’s values and culture, and your unique insights and experiences can contribute to this being an authentic and compelling brand identity.

We have a history that’s worth celebrating. One built from the can-do spirit of doers. Our roots run deep, under factory floors engrained with a rich automotive and industrial heritage. Our people dreamed big and built bigger. Now, it’s our innovative spirit that’s led the way to new possibilities.

Great! But let’s go over some guidelines.
Brands are, at the same time, incredibly powerful and incredibly fragile. For that reason, we offer some guidelines. By following the brand standards, you will play a role in growing a strong, compelling brand. Stray from them and you risk diluting a message that has been painstakingly refined.
By following the provided guidelines will help ensure Kokomo’s brand remains strong as its usage grows. We are providing you with a brand book that offers guidelines on how to use the new branding and how not to use it. It includes details on the font usage, color palette and more.

A variation of our logo

Because our campaign includes several variations of our logo, it can be a bit overwhelming — especially for those not graphically inclined. To help make implementation more accessible to all, two versions are available for download.
The first is a condensed version with only the files needed for web display or small-sized printing (i.e. flyers and postcards). The second is the entire catalog of the brand, including vector and font files. Each contains a cheat sheet to help you navigate the logo variations.
