Small Business of the Month

May 2024 Winner – CrossFit Kokomo

Community-focused fitness

May 2024 Small Business of the Month is CrossFit Kokomo, a local fitness facility featuring CrossFit exercise programs.

Alongside the facility, owner Kevin Jewell has done numerous fundraisers within our community, ranging from giving food to our local police and fire department during COVID, raising funds and awareness to suicide, hosting events at the Kokomo Jackrabbits to honor fallen military servicemen and women, to raising over $80,000 for Jackson Street Commons from their annual 24-hour fundraiser.

On May 16, 2024, the business was awarded a Small Business of the Month plaque from the Chamber, a Hard Working Hoosier Award from State Representative Mike Karickhoff, and a Cornerstone Award from Mayor Tyler Moore.

For the business’ contributions to the community, CrossFit Kokomo also received the 2024 Small Business of The Year award during the Greater Kokomo Alliance Annual Awards Celebration on November 7, 2024.

ABOUT THE SMALL BUSINESS OF THE MONTH PROGRAM

The Small Business of the Month/Year Program (SBOM) is designed to recognize the dedication, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit displayed by Greater Kokomo Chamber Businesses. The goal of the monthly award is to highlight a small business and give them extra marketing exposure to aid in growing their business. The award season runs from January to November annually.  In November, all the previous years’ Small Business of the Month winners are in the running for the Small Business of the Year recognition at our Annual Awards and Celebration event.
